Annual SLRAA Filipino Fiestas

San Lorenzo Ruiz

San Lorenzo Ruiz is the first canonized Filipino martyr. He is patron saint of  the Philippines and Filipino people. SLRAA celebrates the liturgical feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz and Companions on the last Sunday in September.

San Pedro Calungsod

San Pedro Calungsod is the second Filipino to be declared a saint by the Roman Catholic Church. He is widely venerated as a patron saint of Filipino youth, catechists, and altar servers. SLRAA celebrates his feast day on a Sunday in April.

Our Lady of Manaoag

Our Lady of Manaoag is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated in Manaoag, a town in Pangasinan, Philippines. She is invoked as patroness of the sick, helpless and needy. SLRAA traditionally celebrates her feast day in May.

Poon Hesus Nazareno

Poon Hesus Nazareno, a life-size image of Jesus Christ carrying a black wooden cross in a semi-kneeling position, portrays the suffering of Christ for humanity’s salvation. SLRAA celebrates the feast day every January 9.

Simbang Gabi

Sambang Gabi is a novena held right before Christmas. The nine days of Simbang Gabi symbolize the nine months when Mary carried Jesus in her womb. SLRAA observes the novena December 15-23.

Pabasa ng Pasyón

Pabása ng Pasyón, is a filipino Catholic devotion held during Holy Week involving the uninterrupted chanting of the Pasyón, an early 16th-century epic poem narrating the passion of Christ.

Feast of Sto. Niño

The Feast of Santo Niño honors the child Jesus. The celebration includes a mass and blessing of Santo Niño statues followed by a festival. It traditionally takes place on the third Sunday of January. 

Feast of St. John Baptist Scalabrini

“The Father of the Migrants” represents a message of faith, hope, and charity for all. SLRAA, a member of the Scalabrinian Lay Movement, celebrates his feast day the first Sunday in October.
