Medical and Humanitarian Programs

The SLRAA in cooperation with the Philippine Medical Association in America (PMAA) conducts annual medical mission for the poor in the remote areas of the Philippines. This year the medical mission visited the poor barrios of Catbalogan, Samar province. In addition, San Lorenzo Ruiz & Scalabrini Center is the venue for the sorting and packing of free medicines and medical supplies used in the medical mission.

“Rice for the Poor” is now part of the humanitarian project of the San Lorenzo Ruiz Association of America, (SLRAA). Started last year as his personal mission to help the poor and also to evangelize San Lorenzo Ruiz by Nick Libramonte, national director of SLRAA, the project gain momentum this year when the “Rice for the Poor” project became part of the program of SLRAA.

In addition to free medical services and free medicine, there were also eyeglasses given to those in need. The used clothes and shoes, toys for the kids donated to the SLRAA, and the sacks of rice were distributed to the needy along side with the medical services.
